In honor of Women’s History Month DCDW is recognizing
Anne Martin with a Living History
by Holly Van Valkenburgh.
Anne Martin ran unsuccessfully for the US Senate in 1914 and worked tirelessly during the Women’s Suffrage Movement to help with efforts to pass the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote nationally on August 26, 1920. She worked with the National American Women’s Suffrage Association (NAWSA) and the National Women’s Party.
